I think you can rent movies on the PlayStation 3 in the U.S., but here in Canada, no such service is available yet. On the bright side, Criterion’s new rental service works fine in the PS3 web browser, and you can make the picture full screen for a rather pleasant viewing experience. It’s not HD, but the quality is pretty decent.
Of course, there are only about 20 movies available at criterion.com so far, but that will no doubt change since they just launched the service. And, since it’s Criterion, you can be pretty sure that everyone is a good movie, if not an all-time classic.
I’ve been looking for a second desktop Twitter client for OS X. Twitterrific is fine, but I use it for my personal account and I want to monitor our company Twitter account as well. First I tried cloning Twitterrific and running it twice, but I found that too confusing since the windows were nearly identical. Then I tried and loathed various AIR apps. Finally, I’ve settled on NatsuLion. Out of the box, the colours are a bit ugly, but a few tweaks and it’s liveable. (Try the dark palette with little or no transparency.) Also, it doesn’t hog a ton of RAM or CPU (yes, AIR, I’m talking to you) and the icon is super cute. Grrrowl!
